The Wenatchee School District has adapted its protocol when schools shutter for snow, freezing rain and other inclement weather conditions. While school buildings close, students will switch to online learning for the day.

"We will close our schools for in person and transition all of our students who would be coming for hybrid learning to online," said Diana Haglund, communications director. "Students who are continuing to learn online, even when our schools are closed, will continue to do so."

The district opts to close when it's dangerous for buses to be on the road or when temperatures drop below -15.
