The Wenatchee School District Board of Directors is inviting the community to two Community Conversation forums surrounding the topic of school facilities. The meetings will serve as a way to gather collective feedback from everyone in the community, from businesses to parents.

"The purpose of the community conversation is a really on the part of our school board. They were looking for a way to really engage with our community and have some dialogue with them on some really important, educational issues," said Diana Haglund, communications director.

The first opportunity will be October 9 from 7-7:45 at Wenatchee High School and the second chance to participate will be October 28 from 6-6:45 at Pybus Public Market. These chats will include light refreshments and translation services will be available.

These upcoming community conversations will center around both current school district facilities and also establishing goals for future facilities as well.

"We want to hear from the public on how they feel our facilities are working and then what their vision for future school facilities needs to be," said Haglund.

The opportunity to weigh in and share dialogue with the school board isn't limited to just this subject matter, as the school district announced future conversations will include topics on social-emotional learning and post secondary pathways.
