It was a very stressful day for Wenatchee High School students, parents and staff, not to mention law enforcement, as three separate incidents kept everyone on edge.

First, an anonymous tip was made this morning by a Wenatchee High School student regarding a rumored school shooting. Law enforcement was notified and the tip was investigated, and it was determined the tip was simply a reference to the school shooting in Michigan earlier this week.

Later in the day a possible threat to Foothills Middle School by an individual from outside the community was reported, but again the incident was investigated and it was determined there was no actual threat. A shelter-in-place order was enacted for Foothills out of precaution, but the order expired at the end of the school day and normal school activities have resumed.

Finally, in another unrelated incident, an individual was causing a disturbance outside of the Wenatchee Valley Tech Center. Law enforcement quickly responded and dealt with the individual.

Communications Manager Diana Haglund said the Tech Center was put under a temporary shelter-in-place order and it expired at the end of the day.

"At no time was there ever a direct threat made to any of our schools, staff or our students," clarified Haglund.

The district is reminding everyone to remain vigilant and if you see something, say something.

The incidents come on the heels of Tuesday's school shooting at Oxford High School in Oxford, Michigan by 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley that left four students dead and seven wounded.
