Wenatchee Travelodge Damaged By Fire Saturday

A fire at the Travelodge on the 1000 block of Wenatchee Avenue produced a column of smoke that could be seen throughout the Wenatchee Valley Saturday afternoon around 4:00 pm.

Chelan County Fire District 1 Battalion Chief Kelly Lindemann said when crews arrived, an exterior fire was spreading up to the 2nd floor of the building.

"The laundry room has some damage to it." Lindemann explained, "The rest is just smoke damage, although we've had to open the attic and so there's some firefighting damage that's going to take place, just to check for extension."

Approximately four rooms were damaged. No injuries were reported.

Crews from Chelan County Fire District 1 and Douglas County Fire District 2 responded. The cause is currently under investigation.
