Wenatchee Valley College was the recipient of $652,899 to be dispersed among several areas for the 2019-2020 after WVC Foundation Board of Directors approved the funding.

"Our students are receiving scholarships, our faculty and staff are getting professional development funds, our programs are receiving support for new equipment and updated software and we're also providing emergency assistance to students that way they stay in school," said Rachel Evey, foundation executive director.

According to Evey, over the past few years the foundation has seen students suffering from food and housing security, so the foundation wants to ensure there are no academic obstacles to their success.

A majority of the funding for equipment and programs stems from donations of unrestricted funds.
