From the Wenatchee Valley VFW Post 3617:

"Following the recommendations from the Chelan-Douglas Health District (CDHD) and the Washington State Department of Health, the Wenatchee Valley VFW Post 3617 has canceled all functions at our building in an effort to minimize the possibility of exposing our members and guests to the COVID-19 virus.

Effective immediately, all Post functions
have been canceled for the remainder of this month.  This includes Bingo on Friday nights, our Community
Coffee Break on Friday mornings, Yoga Classes on Tuesday, the St. Patrick’s
Dinner on March 15, and the regularly scheduled monthly Post Meeting on March 18.

This closure was done out of an abundance
of caution to protect our customers, membership and their families as many of
them are at a high risk for severe illness from the COVID-19 virus due to age
and underlying chronic medical conditions.

We will continue to monitor the
recommendations from our Health District based on conditions of this pandemic
in our community.  On March 30, 2020, we
will make a decision as to our plan for April and going forward.

The office of the Douglas County Veterans Service Officer located in our building will continue to have regular hours and meet with clients. We encourage everyone to follow the advice and directions of our Health District and Washington State Department of Health to minimize the spread of this virus and protect yourselves and family."
