The Wenatchee School District is getting $72,000 in grant money to help homeless students. The grant is from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Washington State Department of Commerce.

It is intended to improve the learning and housing stability of students who are homeless. The Women’s Resource Center will work with the district and manage the housing situation for students and their families.

In Washington state, about one public school student in 25 is homeless.
