The Careers After School program is orchestrated through a partnership between the Wenatchee School District and the Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce and this year the Wenatchee Valley College Foundation is sponsoring the hands on learning program.

"Wenatchee Valley College Foundation chose to sponsor Careers After School because it's our mission to support Wenatchee Valley College and its students," said Rachel Evey, executive director. "One way we do that is to show these career pathways and to encourage students to get the proper education to have careers in those industries."

Careers After School is an avenue for students in grades 6th-12th to explore and connect with the local business network. It provides an introductory eye opener to the workforce and exposes students to a variety of careers.

"We just wanted to spotlight our local industries and the education pathways students can take to get there," said Evey.

Confluence Health is the first event on October 24. The events are free and open to all students in grades 6-12, including home-schooled students.

"It directly shows the pathway that education can take to different industries and different careers. Not just those pathways, but local industries and business partners that have those jobs available to students that are in school now," said Evey.
