Educators, Childcare Workers Added to Phase 1B-1 Vaccination Schedule

All teachers, school staff and childcare workers are immediately available to be vaccinated as part of Phase 1B-1 after announcements by President Biden, Governor Inslee and the State Department of Health.

The President directed all states to get educators and childcare employees at least one shot of the vaccine by the end of March.

DOH says they are working to secure enough supply and equitable access.

Governor Inslee said, "This should give educators more confidence to return to in-person learning and that it can be done with the safety protocols that are being used by 1,400 other schools in our state right now."

State Superintendent Chris Reykdahl said, "We expect this priority on vaccinations for school employees will speed up the timeline for many districts who are working to begin or expand in-person learning."
