Wenatchee School District's Foothills VEX Robotics Team is hosting a home tournament next Saturday, February 1st. This is the VEX Robotics Team's 5th year in existence, however this year will be the team's debut as the host of the tournament.

"The community should come out and watch because we've always had a fairly successful program. Every year we've had a high number of teams go to state and we've gone to Worlds every year," said Brigitte Wiegand, robotics coach. "It's just a lot of fun. The kids enjoy having a chance to showcase their hard work."

The tournament entry is free and is at Foothills Middle School with the tournament starting at 8:30. It's an all day tournament and the community is invited to come and go as they please.

"Our program exists solely because our community supports us. We are not a program funded by our school district," said Wiegland. "We are a program funded by donations, grants and sponsors."
