Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort just released an announcement that could stir up excitement for the impending 2019-2020 season for night skiers. The ski resort has expanded its night lighting system to include 13 acres of additional terrain with access from Chairs 1 and 4, Pika Peak and 100LAPS rope tows. Night ski operations have also been expanded to thirty two nights rather than the former ten Saturday nights from previous seasons.

"We just really saw an increase in demand," said Tony Hickock, marketing director.  "Last year we also re-introduced beginner lessons on our beginner rope tow and it was really popular, we had a lot of folks take advantage of that."

Over the course of the last couple of years, Hickock stated there has been an increase in interest in night skiing opportunities at the resort which prompted the company to expand its night skiing options.

"So we're going to have two rope tows and two chair lifts running for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights starting December 26th. Night skiing is going to run from 4-9 p.m. as well on those nights," said Hickock.

In addition to the new night skiing operation schedule, according to Hickock, two Sundays this season will have night skiing operation hours to make the sum total thirty two nights open for night skiers.

Mission Ridge is also pushing to coordinate with local schools and local youth groups to re-engage with that age demographic.

"There's so many kids in our community that we really want them to have the opportunity to try out skiing and snowboarding. We really think the night skiing would be an awesome opportunity to do that," said Hickock.

Mission Ridge will offer a Night Ski Pass for $29-$149 depending on age for all 32 nights.
