Stevens Pass Reopened After Avalanche Control Extended

UPDATE 6:50am WSDOT  completed avalanche control work on US2 Stevens Pass and reopened US2 in both directions at 6:45am with Traction Tires required.

Avalanche control work on Stevens Pass is extended to 8 a.m. Wednesday.   Eastbound traffic is stopped at milepost 58 at Scenic, and westbound traffic at milepost 65, the summit of Stevens Pass.

Highway 2 at Stevens Pass will be closed beginning at 4 a.m. tomorrow [Wednesday] morning for avalanche control. Eastbound traffic will be stopped at milepost 58 at Scenic. Westbound traffic will be stopped at milepost 65, the Stevens Pass Summit. The closure is expected to last between 30 minutes and two hours, but WSDOT will make that determination during the work.
