They might not be needed just yet, but starting tomorrow, November 1st, it will be legal to have studded tires on your car. The State Department of Transportation does remind drivers that studs do not fulfill the chain requirement, so if chains are required over a mountain pass, you will still need to put chains on your vehicle. Studded tires are permitted on Washington roadways through March 31st, unless extended by WSDOT.
