OSPI Announces No Spring State Testing for Most Students

The Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction says that Washington will not be administering the Smarter Balanced Assessments or the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science this spring.

The testing will now take place in the fall which OSPI says is consistent with federal requirements.

State Superintendent Chris Reykdal says teachers can now focus on engaging their students and families over the last two months of school; supporting their academic and social-emotional needs as preparations are underway for a comprehensive opening of our public schools this fall.
