State Superintendent Chris Reykdal says all school districts will be required to offer full-time, in-person learning in the fall though they can provide alternative virtual options if desired.

He says there will still be masking requirements.

"We are still going to have physical distancing and districts need to plan for that, but the language is 'to the extent practical or feasible.' In order to accommodate all of our families and students who want to be in person next year, districts can provide flexibility on six feet in lunch rooms or three feet in the classroom."

Reykdal also says they've received a lot of questions of vaccine requirements.

"There are no mandates for the vaccine, not for employees and not for students. I do encourage you to take it. It is incredibly safe. It is the right thing to do for our fellow citizens. It is right thing to do to open up our economy, our business and schools and to keep each other healthy and safe."

School districts will be receiving further information on the requirements for in-person and any virtual options soon.
