Washington state startups looking to land funding have an opportunity to compete for a $150,000+ investment award. The Flywheel Investment Conference opened the application process for the investment competition until February 21st.

"The Flywheel Investment Conference is a full day event that's really about connecting investors, start ups and community together," said Jenny Rojanasthien, executive director of GWATA (Greater Wenatchee Area Technology Alliance). GWATA directs the conference.

The top 6 start ups selected from the stack of applications will come to compete live at the conference, on April 16th, in downtown Wenatchee for the six figure award.

The investment award is funded by the Flywheel Angel Network, a group of investors located in North Central Washington. The minimum awarded funding has jumped from $100,000 in 2019 to $150,000 in 2020. Not only will there be the opportunity for the $150,000+ award, but one of the finalists that's voted audience favorite will win a $5,000.

"The conference is really dynamic in that there are speakers, keynotes, seminars, panelists. We really try to make it an educational event that whether you're an investor, a community member or a student, there's something you're going to learn at the conference," said Rojanasthien.

Tickets are open to the public and on sale now. Early bird pricing is available until March 16, 2020.
