A benefit dinner for Okanogan County Fire Assistant Chief Christian Johnson has been scheduled for November to help him and his family after he suffered second and third-degree burns over more than half his body fighting the Spring Coulee Fire over the Labor Day weekend.

At last report, Johnson was still in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center with a long road ahead.

The benefit dinner will take place November 23rd at 6:00 p.m. in the Omak Elks Lodge. After the dinner will be an auction, for which items are being accepted.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Johnson family.

A GoFundMe page for the family has raised more than $34,000.
